19th International Munich Paper Symposium
Already for 19 years, one of the major European conferences in paper technology, the IMPS 2010 - International Munich Paper Symposium took place again in the modern Sheraton Muenchen Arabellapark Conference Center from 10-12 March 2010. The theme of the meeting was “Progress in Board and Paper Technology”, and, while many of the papers were presented by board mills and paper mills, it was clear that papermaking equipment and innovations designed to improve the performance of paper, board and printing machines play a very important role.
Most presentations took an analytical rather than a commercial approach. The participants shared their experiences with relatively new systems and the speakers also took a look at some future developments. The IMPS is organised by Professor Kleemann, and it has now existed for 19 years. It is always focused on specific topics related to the paper manufacturing and paper supplying industry. In contrast to many very large conferences, the IMPS hosts not more than about 400 participants, in a superb first class atmosphere. It is intended to provide an international platform for people engaged in the field of board, paper and printing technology. The conference is bilingual (English and German).
