Bach: English Suite No. 3 G minor BWV 808
Beethoven: Sonata No. 11 B major op. 22
Chopin: Barcarolle F sharp major op. 60 and Prélude C sharp minor op. 45
Ravel: „Gaspard de la nuit“
Hardly any other artist divides the camps as much as Ivo Pogorelich. Whether pace, dynamics or agogics: he is a master of extremes in all areas, his play never predictable. Again and again the Croatian pianist succeeds in creating new contexts that the listener would otherwise not be able to understand. Adored by some, despised by others, the controversy surrounding his often provocative appearance did not change the fact that the radical musician is still one of the great artistic personalities of our time. He had withdrawn for a long time, about ten years ago the 60-year-old returned to the podium - still gifted with virtuosity and variety in sound. His creative range is particularly impressive in "Gaspard de la nuit", Ravel's virtuoso piece on the border of unplayability.
